Australian pianist Jayson Gillham last night won the Royal Over-Seas League’s “Commonwealth Musician of the Year” Gold Medal and a total of £16,000 prize money in its 60th Annual Music Competition in the Queen Elizabeth Hall at London’s Southbank Centre.

Already a winner of the Keyboard Section held in February, Jayson competed against the three other finalist winners of the Strings, Wind and Vocal sections of this competition chosen from over 400 applicants.

Jayson joins a distinguished alumni of ROSL Annual Music Competition Gold Medallists including Australian pianists Geoffrey Parsons (1953) and Piers Lane (1982).
